So, I'm a bit disappointed that there was no mass email regarding the AGM. Not everyone is able to, or is interested in, checking the website for updates....granted if I was playing more golf I would likely be checking it more often. I'm not disappointed that there were elections - in fact I'm VERY happy to see a breath of life in organized disc golf in Calgary. I am however a bit disappointed that the people who were last involved with the formal organization of the sport in the city weren't even notified. Oh well....life goes on. I noticed that it is not the CDGA, but its now the CDGC - I like the name change. You (the executive) should likely discuss how you will be affiliated with the CDGA, ADSA, and their legacy. All of the baskets in Calgary (including those in storage) are technically the property of either CDGA and/or ADSA. Additionally, the CDGA still has a bank account (to which Lukasz and I are the signatories) that has money allocated for the development of a golf course in Centenary Park - the money is from a government grant and came with conditions on its use. To my knowledge, the funds are still sitting in our TD bank-account (Lukasz was the treasurer so he may have more info). Between Andrew, Lukasz and I, there are likely some documents and info that the new executive would benefit from. There is also likely a lot of crap that you wont want, but we'd like to give to you anyways. Lastly, I'd like to offer my support to the club in any way I'm able. I don't necessarily want to sign up as a member at large (or to have any official capacity), but I would like to help where I'm able. Great work gang! To all Disc Golfers, The Calgary Disc Golf Club (CDGC) will be holding a general meeting on Thursday April 28^th, 2011 The meeting will take place at Phil`s Restaurant located at 3210 17 Ave SE The meeting will run from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. e will discuss the current situation of disc golf and courses in Calgary and give an update of our discussions with the City of Calgary in regards to replacement/additional courses. CDGC Memberships for the 2011 season will be on sale at this meeting as well. Memberships cost $30, for which you will receive a CDGC shirt, Towel and a Bag Tag.. This annual membership will also allow you to play in the Tuesday night singles league as well as a Thursday night Bag Tag league. We encourage EVERYONE to show up to this meeting, as there will most likely be representatives from the City of Calgary attending, and we want to show the City that the CDGC is representative and the voice of disc golfers here in Calgary.
